A 26-year-old ordained rabbi named Yosef returned to the Diamond District in Midtown, New York City, on Thursday, one day after a woman stalked him and stabbed him with a syringe. The New York Post reported that the victim believes he was targeted because he is visibly Jewish. [1]

The victim, who requested that his full name not be published, told the New York Post two days after the attack that he was shaken but undaunted. He stated that people cannot allow hate to stop who they are and called for more light on the streets. [1]

Algemeiner.com confirmed that the victim is a Chabad rabbi who vowed not to back down following the assault in the Diamond District. Historical records note that the institution of the rabbinate emerged after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, with modern Orthodox rabbis maintaining traditional ordination standards.
