The United Kingdom is expected to experience up to ten days without significant rain as high pressure develops across the country, BBC News reported. The dry spell brings settled weather to the start of November. [1]

The incoming period of calm weather follows turbulent conditions brought by the first named storms of the season, Austen and Bóelo. BBC News reported that rainfall from both storms, alongside a low pressure system on Monday, resulted in the wettest week in the United Kingdom for two years, according to the Environment Agency. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Storm Bóelo previously caused widespread disruption across Ireland, leaving more than 40,000 premises without power and delaying flights. BBC News noted that Storm Bóelo delivered a particularly high volume of rainfall. [1][2]

BBC News reported that the high pressure system will remain over or near the United Kingdom for at least ten days before another weather change begins. [1]
