Allies of President Donald Trump are preparing for legal expenses that could reach into the millions of dollars as Democrats prepare congressional investigations if they win the upcoming midterm elections, the New York Post reported. The White House counsel office has hired additional lawyers and received assistance offers from outside law firms to handle potential oversight proceedings. [1]

Democrats plan to use congressional majorities to force Republicans to vote on President Trump's tariffs, according to the Washington Examiner. As FTMQ News reported earlier, New York Governor Kathy Hochul previously noted that Democrats could use congressional investigations and subpoenas to stall the president's policy agenda if they take control of Congress. [2][12]

Representative Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, has visited 115 districts in 34 states during this election cycle to raise campaign funds for House Republicans, Fox News reported. Republican Party leadership is travelling across the country to defend their current majority in the House of Representatives. [4]

Donald Trump took office for his second term as president on January 20, 2025. The Republican Party currently holds majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. [10]
