Nigel Farage will no longer write a regular column for the Daily Telegraph, according to the Guardian. Sources cited by the newspaper differ on the reasons for his departure. Some sources suggested that the newspaper's new owners terminated the contract, while others close to Farage said the politician resigned. [1]

The Guardian reported that Farage wrote for the broadsheet as recently as last week. In that article, he condemned the first budget of Andy Burnham's premiership and pledged to remove benefits for foreigners, end net zero targets, and cut foreign aid. His departure makes him the latest prominent right-wing figure to leave the title under its new ownership. [1]

Farage is the leader of Reform UK and has served as the Member of Parliament for Clacton since 2024. He previously led the UK Independence Party from 2006 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2016, and served as a member of the European Parliament for South East England from 1999 until the United Kingdom left the European Union in 2020. [3][8]

The Daily Telegraph, founded in 1855 by Arthur B. Sleigh, is a conservative broadsheet newspaper published in London by the Telegraph Media Group. [4]
