Glenwood Hoskin Jr., a 60-year-old Pennsylvania man, set a Guinness World Record by attending 1,207 movie screenings in a single year, UPI reported. His record amounts to an average of 3.3 movies per day. [1]

Hoskin told Guinness World Records that he discovered the record category while looking around online, according to UPI. He researched titles for attending the most cinema productions of the same film as well as the most total films seen in a cinema in one year. [1]

The record for attending the same film stands at 292 showings, UPI reported. Hoskin stated that this target seemed unattainable because movies remain in theaters for short periods during the streaming era, leading him to target the single-year total record instead. [1]

Pennsylvania has an estimated population of 13,059,432 as of July 2025 and spans approximately 46,000 square miles across Appalachian terrain. [3]
