Robert Jenrick defends Nigel Farage over racism claims

Reform UK MP Robert Jenrick has defended Nigel Farage against new allegations that the party hosts political extremists, the Guardian reported on October 16. Jenrick claimed that Farage had done more than almost anybody to stand against racism and the far right. [1]

The comments followed ITV footage showing a Reform UK official warning Farage that he was protecting a mayoral candidate who was accused of making racist remarks about David Lammy, according to the Guardian. Lammy is the former Labour deputy prime minister. [1]

Farage has served as the Leader of Reform UK and the Member of Parliament for Clacton since 2024, having previously led the UK Independence Party. Jenrick and Farage recently differed on military action against Channel migrant boats, as FTMQ News reported earlier. Magzter and the Guardian also reported that Farage rejected Jenrick's claims, stating British troops would not shoot at small boats. [2][4][5]
