Multiple people were killed and injured during a shooting in Monterey County, California, on Monday morning. The New York Post and USA Today both reported that the attack occurred near Monterey. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fatalities following the incident. [1][2]

The New York Post reported that the shooting took place around 8:30 a.m. along Jetty Road in Moss Landing. Monterey County deputies and detectives responded to the scene, but authorities have not yet released details regarding the identities or conditions of the victims. [1]

Following a request from the sheriff’s office, the California State Park Police closed Jetty Road and Moss Landing State Beach. The sheriff’s office confirmed that there was no active threat to the Moss Landing community while the investigation remained active. [1]

The incident comes shortly after another shooting in the state, as FTMQ News reported earlier, when one person was killed and six others were wounded inside a Spirit Halloween store in Fairfield, California, on October 31. [5]
