A federal judge ruled on Friday that the administration of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani must comply with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement subpoena, the Washington Examiner and Politico reported. The ruling overrode objections from the mayor regarding personal information for people residing in a city homeless shelter. [1][2][4]
According to the Washington Examiner, United States District Judge Lewis Kaplan, who was appointed by President Bill Clinton, issued the ruling. Federal agents are seeking the names and birth dates of homeless men residing at a shelter in the Bronx. [1]
