Italian side Como are preparing to host Manchester United at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium in a historic Champions League match, BBC News reported. Manchester United travel to Italy on a run of six games without a win, which BBC News described as their worst run since the 2018-19 season. [1][6]

Manchester United are facing a defensive shortage for the trip to Como, according to the Daily Mail. Defender Lisandro Martinez was left behind, leaving Harry Maguire as the only senior centre back who has played this year present at a recent Carrington training session monitored by manager Michael Carrick, the Daily Mail reported. [5]

TNT Sports reported that Como manager Cesc Fabregas has detailed a 15-player squad for the fixture. BBC News noted that when Manchester United won their last Champions League title in 2008, Como were playing in Serie D. [1][10]

Fabregas is a Spanish former professional central midfielder who serves as the head coach of Como, according to Wikipedia. Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has insisted there is no toxic culture at the English club following criticisms from former manager Erik ten Hag, the Telegraph reported. [4][11]
