Representative Ilhan Omar called Donald Trump a creep after the president revived long-standing allegations regarding her birth name and her former husband, Fox News reported. The response follows a recent federal raid on the congresswoman's home, which FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul and Fox News noted marked her first public appearance since the event. [3][4][6][7]

The Washington Examiner reported that columnist Guy Benson criticized Omar on television, calling accusations that she is related to an ex-husband and uses a different birth name very suspicious. FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul reported that Omar addressed questions regarding a name change, while NewsNation reported that she doubled down on her real name when confronted at the Mall of Somalia. [1][3][5]

In other developments reported by USA Today, Omar stated that Trump was behind the federal raid designed to freak her out. Meanwhile, The Washington Post reported that Omar experienced a spike in political fundraising following the federal search of her home. [2][5]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Omar has previously denied knowledge of being related to her ex-husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, whom she married in 2009 and divorced in 2017. Omar has served as the Democratic U.S. representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district since 2019, covering Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs, and was among the first Muslim women elected to Congress.
