Representative Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, dismissed rumors that she was related to her ex-husband, according to the Washington Examiner. When asked if she was related to her former spouse, Omar replied, "Not to my knowledge." [1]

The Washington Examiner reported that Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009, and the couple divorced in 2017. The response addresses long-running rumors alleging that Elmi was her biological brother and that they married to fraudulently secure him immigration benefits. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, federal authorities recently searched Omar's home in Washington, D.C., obtaining her phone, passport, and DNA evidence during an expanded investigation into financial disclosures and immigration claims. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has also made claims regarding a winery co-owned by her current husband, and her older sister voluntarily spoke with federal investigators. [2]

Omar has represented Minnesota's 5th congressional district since 2019, as FTMQ News previously reported. [3]
