Ilhan Omar releases fundraising video following federal home search

Representative Ilhan Omar released a campaign video on Tuesday night asking supporters for donations following a federal raid on her Washington, D.C., home, Fox News and the New York Post reported. In the video recorded inside a vehicle, Omar thanked supporters and accused President Donald Trump of using the investigation to intimidate political rivals ahead of the midterm elections, according to Fox News and the Washington Examiner. The campaign video marks the Minnesota Democrat's first public appearance since federal agents searched her home, Fox News reported. The Washington Examiner added that Omar described the period as a very expensive and challenging time as she returns to the campaign trail three weeks before the midterm elections. [1][4][7]

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Omar could face deportation or imprisonment during remarks at the Oval Office, Fox News and Al Jazeera reported. Al Jazeera and Fox News both noted that Trump called the congresswoman a disgrace, dishonest, and sick while referencing a federal probe into her citizenship and immigration background.
