Former New York Governor George Pataki said on Sunday that Republican candidate Bruce Blakeman can still win the governor's office, the New York Post reported. Pataki stated that the only poll that counts is the one from voters at the ballot box on Tuesday. [1]

Pataki drew a comparison to his own victory in 1994, according to the New York Post. The former governor defeated three-term Democratic incumbent Mario Cuomo despite six final pre-election polls showing Cuomo in the lead, including four by double digits. [1]

Early voting is underway in the gubernatorial race between Blakeman and Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul, as FTMQ News reported earlier. Hochul previously said socialists cannot win statewide office in New York, while Blakeman recently criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for missing the annual Columbus Day parade on Fifth Avenue. [4][5]

Pataki remains New York's last Republican governor, according to the New York Post. Voters will cast their ballots in the gubernatorial election on Tuesday. [1]
