Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El Sayed campaigned for support inside at least five Islamic centers associated with past violent rhetoric, the New York Post reported on October 31. The reported statements at the venues included describing the United States as the house of Satan and calling for the final annihilation of Jews. [1]

The New York Post stated that El Sayed visited the Islamic Center of Detroit in March 2026 to secure support. He addressed a packed room of men during a Ramadan prayer gathering at the facility. [1]

El Sayed is an American epidemiologist, public health administrator, academic, and politician who serves as the Democratic nominee for the 2026 United States Senate election in Michigan.
