Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich on Sunday urged voters to cast their ballots for Republicans in the upcoming elections. The New York Post reported that the former Democratic governor claimed the Democratic Party has been hijacked by socialists. [1]

Speaking on the Cats Roundtable radio program, Blagojevich specifically singled out figures such as Zohran Mamdani. He stated that the organization is no longer the traditional Democratic Party and declared that it has become a socialist party. Blagojevich previously served as governor of Illinois before being convicted of attempting to sell the United States Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama following the 2008 presidential election. [1]

The comments come as national political figures campaign ahead of Election Day. As reported by the Washington Examiner, former President Barack Obama appeared at a campaign rally in Detroit on Saturday evening to support Abdul El Sayed, the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate in Michigan. Obama acknowledged during the event that El Sayed does not agree with him on every political issue but urged Democrats to unite. [2][3]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, El Sayed is a former executive director of the Detroit Health Department who has previously faced scrutiny regarding past links to the Democratic Socialists of America. In a separate campaign event reported by NBC News, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer publicly stated that America is ready to elect a woman. [4][6]
