Authorities have arrested a Michigan man for allegedly threatening to kill Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel. United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. stated that 42-year-old Anthony Daniel Palazzolo sent Facebook messages to an associate of Patel claiming he would target the bureau and had put a hit out on the director, the New York Post reported. [1]

The New York Post reported that Palazzolo, who lives in Chesterfield Township, also made a phone call to an FBI agent. During the call, he allegedly threatened to go to the Detroit field office and use deadly force against government officials. [1]

Patel has served as the director of the FBI since 2025. He previously worked as the chief of staff to the United States secretary of defense between 2020 and 2021, and served as acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in early 2025. [8]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Patel was scheduled to replace Vice President JD Vance at an anti-fraud news conference after Vance canceled a planned trip to Minnesota. [12]
