Manchester United have decided to keep Michael Carrick as head coach for Saturday's Premier League match against Chelsea, BBC Sport and The Telegraph reported. The decision follows a period of heavy pressure on Carrick after a series of poor performances. [1][3][4][6]

BBC Sport reported that 45-year-old Carrick led training on Tuesday morning as the club seeks to break an eight-match winless streak in all competitions. The team's future became uncertain after a 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth, which left United sitting just one place above the relegation zone. BBC Sport noted that fans showed anger toward the squad after the loss. [1][3]

Old Trafford is the home stadium of Manchester United in Greater Manchester, England, and has a seating capacity of 74,158. Carrick, a former midfielder who played 12 years for Manchester United, currently serves as the club's head coach. As FTMQ News reported earlier, United previously dropped points at home in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. [13][14][16]

BBC Sport and rte.ie reported that United's hierarchy is giving Carrick the chance to turn the team's form around when they visit Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea this weekend. [1][3][6]
