Kathy Hochul stumps with progressive leaders ahead of gubernatorial election

New York Governor Kathy Hochul campaigned in Queens on Sunday alongside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, according to the New York Post. The politicians gathered during a Buffalo Bills watch party at Murphy's Sports Bar in Astoria in the final weekend before Tuesday's gubernatorial election. [1]

The New York Post reported that Governor Hochul expressed gratitude for having a broad coalition with different perspectives. She stated that the support of the two progressive figures would not turn off moderate voters ahead of the vote. [1]

The campaign event follows earlier political developments in the state. As FTMQ News reported earlier, a Siena Research Institute poll showed Governor Hochul leading Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman by 54 percent to 40 percent. [11]

Mayor Mamdani serves as the 112th mayor of New York City and previously represented the 36th district in the New York State Assembly. Governor Hochul is seeking to maintain her seat in the upcoming election on Tuesday. [1][8]
