Irish comedian Joanne McNally was banished from the BBC reality game show The Celebrity Traitors during Thursday night's episode, just one day before the series final. The Irish Examiner, the Irish Times, and the Daily Mail all reported her exit ahead of the show's conclusion. According to the Irish Times, McNally was eliminated at the round table after YouTuber and traitor King Kenny switched his vote. [1][3][4][7]

The Irish Times reported that the 43-year-old comedian was the only Irish contestant to enter the castle for this season of the show. Speaking after her banishment, McNally called her belief that actor Richard E Grant was a faithful contestant very embarrassing. Grant had disclosed his status as a traitor shortly after being selected earlier in the series. [1][3][4]

McNally is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actress who co-hosts the podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me alongside Vogue Williams. She previously co-hosted Republic of Telly on RTÉ2 and has appeared on television programmes including The Late Late Show. Traitors Ireland, an Irish adaptation of the Dutch series De Verraders, premiered on RTÉ One on 31 August 2025 with presenter Siobhán McSweeney. [8][9][11]

In reaction to the episode, Traitors Ireland winner Diego Rodrigues Caixeta told the Irish Examiner that he was hoping McNally would go all the way in the BBC spin-off. Caixeta stated that he is not holding his breath for a faithful victory in the remaining portion of the competition. [1]

The final episode of the second series of The Celebrity Traitors is scheduled to air on BBC One on Friday evening, as reported by the Guardian and the Irish Times. [3][4][5][6]
