An independent disciplinary committee has dismissed a citing complaint against Leinster and Ireland prop Tadhg Furlong, the Irish Examiner, Irish Times, and thejournal.ie reported. The decision was reached unanimously, according to the Irish Examiner. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the citing followed a complaint lodged by match citing commissioner Peter Ferguson after Leinster defeated Munster at the Aviva Stadium. [1][2][3][11]

The Irish Times and thejournal.ie both report that Furlong was cited for an alleged breach of Law 9.27, which bans acts against good sportsmanship. Munster number eight Gavin Coombes alleged that Furlong grabbed him in the groin area during the first half of the match. As FTMQ News reported earlier, match officials found no video evidence of the alleged incident during the game. [1][2][3][12]

Furlong plays as tighthead prop for Leinster, the Ireland national team, and the British and Irish Lions. The 33-year-old Wexford native made his senior debut for Leinster in 2013 and his international debut for Ireland in 2015. [2][8][10]

The dismissal leaves Furlong free to play for Ireland during the upcoming international matches, according to the Irish Examiner and thejournal.ie. The Irish Times reported that he will be eligible for Ireland's opening Nations Championship match against Argentina at the Aviva Stadium on Friday week. [1][2][3]
