Florida woman arrested after man set on fire following argument

Authorities in Florida have arrested 45-year-old Tanisha Shelton after she allegedly set a man on fire on Saturday, the New York Post reported. The victim, identified by police as 33-year-old Nathaniel Devon Mathis, suffered third-degree burns over nearly his entire body. [1]

According to a police report obtained by CBS and reported by the New York Post, Shelton and Mathis had been involved in a heated dispute hours before the incident. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said Shelton left the argument after threatening to return with someone to attack Mathis. [1]

Police stated that Shelton returned hours later carrying a bucket that held a plastic bag. She reportedly asked a witness to borrow a lighter before dousing Mathis in an accelerant and setting him alight, according to the New York Post. [1]
