Oklahoma City Thunder star Jalen Williams was taken off the court on a stretcher after suffering a severe left leg injury on Sunday. The injury occurred during Oklahoma City's 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Fox News, the New York Post, and CBS Sports all reported on the incident. [1][2][3]

The incident happened late in the fourth quarter with just over a minute left to play. CBS Sports reported that Williams attempted a dunk, while the New York Post described him going up for a layup. Both outlets noted that Williams was sandwiched mid-air between Clippers players, including Kris Dunn and Derrick Jones Jr. according to CBS Sports, causing him to lose his balance and fall. [2][3]

Upon landing, Williams fell with his left leg trapped awkwardly underneath the weight of his body. Fox News reported that Williams placed his head in his hands in disbelief as teammates were visibly shaken. CBS Sports reported that the injury appeared to be a severe broken leg. [1][2][3]

Team trainers and medical staff immediately attended to Williams on the Paycom Center court, according to the New York Post. The New York Post noted that a team trainer placed a towel over the player's leg as medical staff prepared him to be stretchered out of the arena. [2]
