A man from New York was arrested after allegedly running over and killing a woman following a minor traffic accident on Route 17 in Paramus, New Jersey, on Monday afternoon, the New York Post reported. [1]

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, 31-year-old Estuardo G. Rodriguez of Tarrytown and 31-year-old Krisiann Reyes Rivera were involved in a minor collision at around 5 p.m. [1]

Authorities said Rivera walked up to the 2024 Acura driven by Rodriguez, which was towing a U-Haul trailer, and slapped one of its windows. As Rivera walked back to her own vehicle, prosecutors said Rodriguez accelerated his car, hit her, and ran her over with the trailer. [1]

Witnesses who saw the collision chased after the vehicle as the driver tried to speed away from the scene, according to local police. [1]
