Edward J Brown, an assistant director of security for Boston Public Schools, was arrested last Friday after allegedly raping a woman on Martha's Vineyard, the Daily Mail reported. Prosecutor Courtney Scalice claimed in court that the 27-year-old forced himself on the victim after bringing her back to a state police barracks from a local bar on August 15. [1]
The victim reportedly fled the scene by running down two flights of stairs after the sexual assault, according to the Daily Mail. She was subsequently found naked and screaming on a street on the island. [1]
The Daily Mail noted that Brown, who faces a rape charge, had previously been the subject of troubling allegations made by ex-girlfriends. [1]
Martha's Vineyard is an island located in Dukes County, Massachusetts, roughly 3 miles south of Cape Cod. Covering 96 square miles, it is the third-largest island on the East Coast of the United States and is known as an affluent summer colony. [2][4]
