Donald Trump hosts White House dinner with Bill Maher and Kid Rock

President Donald Trump held a dinner at the White House on Thursday night with musician Kid Rock, television host Bill Maher, and sports commentator Stephen A. Smith. According to the New York Post, Trump described the gathering as a great and informative dinner with smart people, noting that the group also toured the White House ballroom. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Trump had previously extended an invitation to Maher for a second White House dinner. [1][3][4][17]

Speaking on Fox News on Friday, Kid Rock described the gathering as an epic dinner. Fox News reported that Kid Rock stated all four men in attendance agreed on the topic of socialism. The Daily Mail and Fox News both reported that Maher had previously had a mostly positive meeting with Trump in March 2025, despite a history of public insults between the two men. [1][3][6]

The New York Post reported that Trump spoke to reporters on Friday as he departed the White House for a campaign trip to Georgia. Trump said that his guests had a good time and that they talked about everything during the long dinner. He added that even though his guests put on a certain facade for their audiences, they actually like him and he likes them. [4]

Kid Rock is an American musician and songwriter who broke into mainstream success with a rap rock sound before shifting to country rock.
