Comedian and talk show host Bill Maher announced that President Donald Trump invited him for a second dinner at the White House. Fox News and AOL.com both reported that Maher made the revelation during a conversation with Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel on his Club Random podcast. Maher stated that the invitation came unexpectedly and mentioned that Trump was really nice via text messages prior to the upcoming dinner. [1][6]

During the podcast episode, Maher explained that after their first dinner together, he returned to his regular work routine before receiving the new invitation. Maher recounted telling the president that he promised not to say negative things about him as he had previously. According to Fox News, Maher noted that he responded by reminding Trump that he is the president of the United States. [1]

The invitation comes alongside other recent public commentary by the comedian on his HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher. As reported by the Daily Mail and the New York Post, Maher recently called for the end of all fraternities following gang rape allegations involving seven Chi Phi fraternity members at Cornell University, where Maher graduated in 1978. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Maher also recently criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on his television show over comments regarding Israel. [2][3][10][11]

Maher is an American television host, comedian, and political commentator who hosted Politically Incorrect from 1993 to 2002. He has hosted the HBO program Real Time with Bill Maher since 2003 and launched his podcast Club Random in 2022. [7]
