The Journal reported that Kinahan, who is 49 years old, is charged with directing the activities of a criminal organisation between October 18, 2015, and April 6, 2017. A defence barrister informed the court that solicitor Darragh Mackin from Phoenix Law intended to become his legal representative, but Mackin was unable to attend court due to unexpected circumstances. Kinahan, an alleged leader of the Kinahan organised crime group, was arrested in the United Arab Emirates on April 15 following an arrest warrant issued by Irish courts. According to The Journal, he was extradited to Ireland from the United Arab Emirates on July 9. [1]
