By the numbers Michael Douglas memoir reveals affair with Kathleen Turner

Michael Douglas, who turned 82 years old, released details of an affair with his 72 year old co-star Kathleen Turner in excerpts from his memoir titled One Helluva Ride. The secret relationship took place between July and October 1983 in Mexico during the filming of their movie Romancing the Stone, which was released in 1984. The disclosure breaks a denial maintained by both actors for over 40 years. [7][8][9][10]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Michael Douglas admitted in an excerpt published by People magazine that he and Kathleen Turner were secretly lovers while filming the 1984 adventure movie. [19]

The pair denied the romance for four decades, publicly claiming that they were merely terrible flirts who possessed strong screen chemistry. Page Six and TMZ both report that the two actors maintained this fabricated story for 40 years before Douglas decided to publish the truth in his autobiography. [5][6][13]

According to HELLO Magazine, Kathleen Turner responded to the publication by stating good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Douglas is a two time Oscar nominee, while Wikipedia records that Turner has earned nominations for an Academy Award, two Tony Awards, and one Grammy Award over her career.
