Winning EuroMillions raffle ticket worth one million euros sold in Killarney

A lottery player in County Kerry won over one million euros in the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle after purchasing a winning Quick Pick ticket in Killarney.

A winning EuroMillions ticket worth 1,005,000 euros was sold in County Kerry for the raffle on Friday, 21 August, breakingnews.ie reported. The National Lottery confirmed that the winning Ireland Only Raffle ticket was purchased at Centra The Reeks, located at Reeks Gateway on Tralee Road in Killarney. [1]

The ticket holder purchased a Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw. The ticket contained the winning raffle number code I-VBD-36131, according to breakingnews.ie. Store owner John Bowler stated that he was thrilled to receive the phone call from the National Lottery informing him of the store selling the winning ticket. [1]

EuroMillions is a transnational lottery launched in February 2004 by lottery operators in France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Irish lotteries joined the multi-national game later that year in October 2004 alongside several other European nations. [2]

County Kerry is located on the southwest coast of Ireland in the province of Munster. It is the fifth largest of Ireland's 32 counties by land area, bordering County Limerick and County Cork. [3]
