A family syndicate from County Cork has claimed a Lotto jackpot prize of 3,641,884 euros. The Irish Examiner reported that the syndicate won the prize online in the draw on September 2. The National Lottery confirmed the collection after notifying the winners in September. [1]
According to the Irish Examiner, a syndicate member discovered the win after receiving a digital notification while getting ready to cut the lawn. The player checked the account and discovered the jackpot amount. The family initially believed lottery officials had contacted the wrong people, Cork Beo reported. The family described discovering the win as bliss, according to The Irish Sun. [1][2][3]
The family plans to hold celebrations and take extra holidays with the winnings. In addition, National Lottery officials are urging an unclaimed ticket holder in County Wexford to collect a 500,000 euro EuroMillions Plus prize, the Irish Examiner reported. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, another jackpot worth over 5.6 million euros was won in County Cork in October. That Quick Pick ticket was bought at an Eason store inside the Mahon Point Shopping Centre. [5]
