A man accused of a mass train stabbing was heard saying that he was the baddest on a train the day before the attack, BBC News reported. Jurors at Cambridge Crown Court heard the detail during the trial of 33-year-old Anthony Williams, who is accused of attempting to murder 10 people on a London-bound train. [1]
BBC News reported that police responded to concerns about Williams on a train the night before the attack after a passenger texted the British Transport Police about a male behaving erratically. The London-bound train had to make an emergency stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire on November 1 last year. [1]
Williams, of Langford Road in Peterborough, denies 14 counts of attempted murder relating to events on the train as well as beforehand in Peterborough and London, BBC News reported. He is accused of attempting to kill three people in Peterborough during the incident. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Williams was arrested in Huntingdon on November 1, 2025. Jurors previously saw CCTV footage of train staff member Samir Zitouni using a frying pan to defend passengers on the train traveling from Doncaster to King's Cross. Williams has previously admitted to wounding charges following the stabbings. [4][5]
Huntingdon is a market town in the Huntingdonshire district of Cambridgeshire, England. The town received its town charter from King John in 1205 and is known as the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell. [2][3]
