A 10-year-old boy shot and killed a 16-year-old neighbor in Albuquerque, New Mexico, during a physical altercatio‌n involving his mother. The New York Post reported that the mother, 40-year-old Elaina Gomez-Villeda, was arrested for murder after allegedly ordering her young son to retrieve her handgun. [1]

Local station KRQE reported that the altercation began when Gomez-Villeda complained to her neighbors about loud music. As she fought with her neighbors, she instructed her son to get the firearm. The boy returned and shot Keinerlein Rangel, 16, killing her, according to authorities. [1]

Before calling 911 to report the incident, Gomez-Villeda allegedly sent a text message to her husband stating that she was probably going to jail right now. She was still on the phone with dispatchers when authorities responded to the scene. [1]
