Dense fog will blanket parts of the United Kingdom on Sunday and into next week, creating dangerous driving conditions, the BBC reported. England and Wales are the areas most likely to experience the foggy conditions on Sunday, before the weather pattern shifts northwards later in the week. [1]
The latest forecast follows a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office early on Saturday morning for parts of England and Wales. According to the BBC, visibility on roads was predicted to drop to less than 100 metres in some places. Forecasters warned that further weather warnings could be issued in the coming days because the weakening late autumn sun makes mist, fog, and patches of low cloud slow to clear. [1]
The persistent foggy conditions follow earlier travel disruptions across the country. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Met Office issued yellow weather warnings late in October as visibility dropped below 100 metres across eastern and central England, including Lincolnshire, the East Midlands, the Home Counties, and Greater London. [3][4]
A traffic collision occurs when a vehicle collides with another vehicle, pedestrian, animal, road debris, or stationary obstruction. Road transport remains statistically the most dangerous situation that people deal with on a daily basis. [2]
