US Secret Service officers arrested a Venezuelan man near the White House on Thursday evening after discovering multiple firearms inside a stolen vehicle and hearing alleged threats against President Donald Trump. Fox News and the Daily Mail both reported that officers approached the suspect after seeing him acting suspicious in his car on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. [1][2][8][9][10]

The Daily Mail identified the suspect as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos. According to the Daily Mail and KKTV, Chrinos claimed that voices in his head instructed him to travel to Washington to kill President Trump. The Daily Mail added that a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson confirmed Chrinos was previously subject to the Biden administration's catch and release policy at the Texas border in March 2024. [1][11]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Secret Service officers recovered an AR-15-style rifle and two handguns from inside the stolen vehicle. The United States Secret Service operates as a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security, responsible for protecting American political leaders and their families. [12][16]

The White House serves as the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. Constitution Avenue, where the arrest occurred, forms the southern boundary of the White House grounds. [1][13]
