Irish police arrested two men in their 30s and a woman in her 20s following an operation in the north inner city of Dublin in the early hours of Monday morning. Independent.ie and the Irish Times both report that officers seized 2.5 million euros worth of cocaine during the raid. The Irish Mirror, RTE.ie, and Dublin Live also report that three people were arrested alongside the seizure of firearms and drugs. [1][2][3][4][5][6]
The Irish Times reported that the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out the operation. Officers seized a submachine gun and two pistols during the search. Garda officers also found several mobile phones, which they believe may link the suspects to a broader drug operation. [2]
The three individuals were arrested on organised crime charges under section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006, according to the Irish Times. They were taken to a Dublin Garda station where authorities can hold them for up to a week. In a separate search at a house in Clondalkin, officers detained a woman after discovering cannabis valued at an estimated 784,000 euros. [2]
Dublin lies on a flat plain divided into northern and southern sides by the River Liffey. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Irish officers previously seized 644,000 euros worth of cocaine and heroin during a separate raid on a home in Limerick city in October 2026. [8][9]
