Amazon MGM Studios released a new trailer on October 22 for the upcoming film I Play Rocky, UPI reported. The movie stars Anthony Ippolito as a young Sylvester Stallone and depicts the making of the 1976 feature film Rocky. UPI reported that the movie will open in theaters on November 20, although The Playlist reported that it opens in select theaters on November 6. [1][5]

The film explores how Stallone wrote and starred in the original Rocky movie, UPI reported. Additional coverage of the trailer release was provided by World of Reel, BroadwayWorld, Collider, and Dark Horizons. According to UPI, the original movie inspired five sequels and the Creed spinoff films. [1][3][4][6][7]

The original Rocky film was written by Stallone and earned critical acclaim as well as commercial success. It received ten Academy Award nominations and won Best Picture. The project marked a major breakthrough for Stallone after years of minor roles and financial struggles. [1][8]

In separate comments reported by Variety, Stallone defended artificial intelligence during an interview on The Overlap podcast. Stallone stated that he received backlash for pitching a half human, half AI movie but said he did not care because AI is here to stay. [2]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Stallone recently starred as Dwight Manfredi in the fourth season of Tulsa King on Paramount+. He is also scheduled to make a special appearance in the upcoming spinoff series Frisco King, which premieres on December 18, 2026. [9][10]
