Software company Palantir has stated that its artificial intelligence platform used by NATO military headquarters cannot be switched off remotely. Louis Mosley, the company executive vice president for the United Kingdom and Europe, told reporters that neither Palantir nor the United States government has a kill switch for the Maven Smart System platform. The reassurance follows European concerns over dependence on United States technology after service disruptions to satellite networks in Ukraine. Stars and Stripes reported that lawmakers have called for an investigation into the source of the disruptions. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Ukrainian military experienced satellite internet connection drops at higher speeds. [1][6][8][16]

United States President Donald Trump denied ordering a service slowdown of SpaceX's Starlink in Ukraine, CNBC reported. According to CNBC, President Trump stated that he was not involved and did not know who was responsible, following news reports suggesting Elon Musk ordered the change. [3][4][5]

The United States envoy to NATO stated that the Starlink dispute in Ukraine was tied to company terms rather than United States policy, according to Anadolu Ajansı. Founded in 2003, Palantir develops data integration and analytics software and is headquartered in Miami, Florida. [2][14]
