A 27-year-old man in St. Paul, Minnesota, stopped a runaway school bus carrying 19 children on Monday afternoon after its driver suffered a medical emergency. According to the New York Post and SuaraGarut.ID, Ebro Ahmed stepped in to bring the vehicle to a halt when he noticed the driver was incapacitated. [1][2]

The New York Post reported that Ahmed was taking a break from his shift at his family tobacco shop, Ya Bricks Snacks and Tobacco, when he saw the Battle Creek Middle School bus rolling past with open doors. He noticed that the bus driver was seizing up at the wheel. [1]

Ahmed credited the television show Grey's Anatomy for giving him the inspiration to jump onto the moving bus and save the students. Local news outlet KSTP initially reported details of his quick intervention, which prevented potential injuries to the 19 middle school children on board. [1]
