A judge in the Bronx Supreme Court has sentenced 23-year-old Christopher Joseph to eight and a half years in prison for a knife attack against Kaitlynn Berman in March 2025. The New York Post and the Daily Mail both reported that Berman, who was 23 years old at the time of the hearing, vomited in the courtroom upon learning of the sentence length. [1][2]
The incident occurred inside Berman's Wakefield apartment while her three-year-old daughter was in the next room. According to the Daily Mail, the attack took place after Berman asked Joseph to leave her apartment. The New York Post reported that Joseph stabbed Berman approximately 22 times without warning, while the Daily Mail stated that she was stabbed 20 times. [1][2]
Outside the courthouse, Berman's advocate, Bishop Boyde Singletary, voiced strong dissatisfaction with the court outcome. Citing NBC 4, the New York Post reported that Singletary stated Joseph should be serving 22 years to life, representing one year for each stabbing, and added that the attacker showed no remorse. [1]
