Judokas Angelika Szymanska, Hassan Doukkali, Tais Pina and Petru Pelivan won gold medals on the second day of the Abu Dhabi Judo Grand Slam at the Mubadala Arena on October 30. Euronews reported that the tournament featured historic first Grand Slam victories for athletes from Morocco and Moldova. [1]

Euronews and JudoInside.com both report that Hassan Doukkali achieved a historic Grand Slam gold medal victory for Morocco. Euronews added that Petru Pelivan claimed a historic title for Moldova, alongside gold medal performances by Tais Pina and Angelika Szymanska. [1][4]

In the women's under 63 kilogram division, Polish athlete Angelika Szymanska faced Anna Kriza of Hungary. Euronews reported that Szymanska, who previously won the Lausanne Grand Slam, scored a waza-ari to secure the match and start her Olympic qualification period. [1]

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour is an annual series of international combat sports tournaments organised by the United Arab Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro. The competition in Abu Dhabi officially got underway on October 29, according to reports from wam.ae and the International Judo Federation. [9][10][11]
