Music producer Jack Antonoff criticized English singer Ed Sheeran for removing rapper Macklemore from his Loop Tour following Macklemore's remarks on the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Fox News reported that Antonoff called the decision a missed chance to resist billionaire pressure and told Sheeran to stand up. [1][8][10][11]

The criticism arose in an interview with The Guardian more than a month after Sheeran faced backlash for dropping the rapper. Fox News and Yahoo reported that the move followed Macklemore's calls on stage for a free Palestine. [1][10]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Macklemore was removed from the Loop Tour after making pro-Palestinian comments in New Jersey. Other tour opening acts, including the Irish band Beoga, Finneas, and Lukas Graham, subsequently left Sheeran's tour in mid-September 2026. [17][18]

The Daily Mail reported that actor Mark Ruffalo made an unannounced appearance at a Macklemore concert in Ireland on Monday to show support for the pro-Palestinian movement. Antonoff is the lead singer of Bleachers and a frequent collaborator with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. [1][6][12]
