Irish band Beoga discussed their decision to pull out of Ed Sheeran's tour during an appearance on RTÉ's The Late Late Show on Friday night, the Irish Examiner and RTÉ reported. The group withdrew from the tour after American rapper Macklemore was dropped from the lineup. [1][2][5]
The controversy began in September 2026 when Sheeran's team removed Macklemore as a supporting act on his Loop Tour following pro-Palestine statements the rapper made on stage in New Jersey. By mid-September 2026, all remaining opening acts, including Beoga, Aaron Rowe, Finneas, and Lukas Graham, had left the tour, Wikipedia recorded. [5]
Host Patrick Kielty interviewed the band during the live broadcast, which also featured actor Philippa Dunn, athlete Sharlene Mawdsley, Tipperary hurler Michael Breen, presenter Laura Fox, investigative journalist Nicola Tallant, and Iain Ward, according to the Irish Examiner. [1]
The Late Late Show is a long-running live chat show broadcast on Friday nights in front of a studio audience. Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter who launched his career in 2011 after signing with Asylum Records. [3][4]
