American rapper Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty, launched his Free Palestine tour at the 3Arena in Dublin, BBC News and South China Morning Post reported. BBC News and rte.ie both reported that all proceeds from the tour will go to organisations supporting Palestinians and the Palestinian movement. [1][3][8]

BBC News noted that the artist performed before a sell-out crowd of up to 13,000 people. RTE reported that actor Liam Cunningham delivered opening remarks at the venue, while Irish musical acts Hozier, Kneecap, and Beoga joined Macklemore on stage as surprise guests. [1][3]

BBC News and South China Morning Post reported that Macklemore announced the tour after being dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour following pro-Palestinian remarks he made on stage. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Macklemore was removed from Sheeran's Loop Tour after making on-stage pro-Palestine statements in New Jersey. [1][8][15]

RTE reported that the Dublin show is the first of three scheduled European dates. The tour is set to continue with upcoming performances scheduled in Paris on Thursday and in London. [3]
