In Gaza City, a missile attack hit a group of civilians next to Cairo School in the Al-Rimal neighbourhood, killing three people, BBC News reported. Hospital officials and news reports confirmed that a child was among those killed in the strike, with Al Jazeera specifying that the child was four years old. [1][3][8]

In the southern city of Khan Younis, a drone attack targeted a group of police officers in the Al-Mawasi area, killing five, according to BBC News. The Hamas-run ministry of interior said the officers were carrying out their routine duties when they were struck. The Israeli military said it carried out two attacks on what it described as targets in the area. [1]

The conflict in the Gaza Strip began on 7 October 2023 when Hamas led an attack on Israel that killed 1,195 people and resulted in 251 hostages being taken. More than 74,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed since the Israeli offensive started. As FTMQ News reported earlier, previous strikes in Khan Younis have targeted areas near the line dividing Hamas and Israeli control. [11][12]
