Authorities in Florida arrested a photographer for allegedly leaving her four children home alone for several days during a work trip to Las Vegas, the New York Post reported. Law enforcement officers arrested 50-year-old Irene Miller last week in Kissimmee, Florida, according to the Osceola County Sheriff Office. [1]

Deputies discovered the situation after responding to a emergency call from a child, the New York Post reported. The child reported that her nine-year-old brother had been struck in the head by a falling dumbbell. When emergency responders arrived at the Kissimmee home, deputies found four children inside aged 9, 11, 12, and 14. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, incidents involving abandoned children have drawn police action elsewhere. In an unrelated case in Poland, a mother left her two children, aged eight and fourteen, on a hiking trail because they were complaining and she wanted to reach a mountain summit alone. [2]
