A federal appeals court vacated an earlier ruling on late Monday that allowed the Trump administration to threaten election workers with prosecution if they did not set aside certain ballots, UPI reported. The dispute centers on ballots that the federal government suspected were cast by noncitizens. [1]

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the case to be reheard by an expanded panel of judges, according to UPI. The decision vacated a ruling issued earlier the same day by a three-judge panel that had suspended a lower court order. [1]

The Trump administration has also appealed to the Supreme Court to set aside 20,000 disputed California mail ballots, Patch reported. [2]
