Democrats projected to win majority in United States House

Democrats have won control of the United States House of Representatives in the midterm elections on Tuesday, according to projections reported by Mother Jones, r/politics, and RTÉ. As FTMQ News reported earlier, media projections indicate that the Democratic caucus will secure a majority in the incoming Congress. [1][3][4][12]

According to RTÉ, Republicans were defending a narrow majority entering the midterm elections and Democrats needed to net four seats to gain control of the chamber. The Guardian reported that the victory for Democrats comes despite aggressive efforts by Republicans to redraw congressional districts. CNN reported that Democrats won at least three House seats in Florida that had been targeted by Republican redistricting efforts. [2][5][6]

The United States House of Representatives is the lower house of the United States Congress.
