Pro Silver Star Ltd., the company that owns the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, filed for a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction against rock band My Chemical Romance on Friday. The New York Post reported that the legal filing followed a concert stunt at the Hollywood Bowl where lookalike performers dressed in the cheerleading squad's signature blue and white uniforms took part in a staged shootout. [1]

According to NME, My Chemical Romance brought out the performers during a rendition of their song Teenagers as part of a five night residency celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album The Black Parade. The New York Post reported that the legal documents accuse the band of degrading the squad's brand during the theatrical show. [1][2]

In a separate development, the Guardian and the Daily Mail both report that the Dallas Cowboys voluntarily recognized the newly formed Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Association on Friday. The labor union will serve as the collective bargaining representative for the squad members, who have been campaigning for higher wages. [3][4]

The cheerleading squad represents the Dallas Cowboys American football team and wears uniforms made up of a blue crop top, white hotpants, and white cowboy boots. My Chemical Romance is an American rock group formed in New Jersey, whose 2006 concept album The Black Parade achieved major commercial success. [9][10][13]

The Guardian and the Daily Mail both report that the Dallas Cowboys football franchise and the cheerleaders union are set to begin collective bargaining following their recent agreement. [3][4]
