Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a 68-page lawsuit against Gerber Products Company and its parent company, Nestlé USA, on October 14, 2026. The Washington Examiner reported that the lawsuit accuses the manufacturers of misleading consumers regarding products that contain dangerous heavy metals, including lead and arsenic. [1]

The legal filing comes while Paxton is actively campaigning as the Republican nominee for the United States Senate in Texas for the 2026 midterm elections, the Washington Examiner reported. Separately, the Guardian reported that Paxton recently announced an inquiry into pediatricians, vaccine manufacturers, and insurance firms over an alleged conspiracy related to vaccines. [1][2]

Paxton has served as the 51st attorney general of Texas since 2015. He previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013 and in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2015 before winning election as attorney general. [10][11]
