Dallas Cowboys owner, president, and general manager Jerry Jones said he has no plans to retire, speaking during an appearance on Fox News. Jones celebrated his 84th birthday on Tuesday and mentioned discussing the topic of retirement with former United States President Bill Clinton. Fox News reported that Jones quoted a line from country singer Toby Keith during the conversation, stating he was not going to let old age in. [1]

The announcements coincided with reports regarding financial contributions linked to the team owner. The Arkansas Advocate reported that the family of Jerry Jones announced a 10 million dollar donation to the Clinton presidential library. Forbes also reported that Jones donated 10 million dollars to the Clinton Foundation. [5][8]

During a radio appearance on 105.3 FM The Fan in Dallas, Jones also recalled an incident from roughly 25 years ago involving a fan, according to the Daily Mail and the New York Post. Marca reported that Jones faced accusations from critics of making up the story about the interaction. [2][4][7]

The Cowboys owner additionally addressed a recent conflict involving quarterback Dak Prescott. The Daily Mail and The New York Times reported that Jones defended fans expressing themselves following a defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during which Prescott was involved in a verbal clash with a worker while returning to the locker room. [3][6]

Jerral Wayne Jones was born on October 13, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. He bought the Dallas Cowboys from Bum Bright in 1989 and continues to serve as the chief executive officer, president, and general manager of the franchise. [9][11]
